New year, new developments and new challenges for the Waterside Community Hub project… The electricity cables have been dug up at the former club, and the gas disconnection is under way: both key steps prior to the demolition (phased) of the derelict building. In the next couple of months the dangerous outbuildings will be knocked down and security fencing erected. Then, when young bats and their mums have packed up the summer maternity roosts before the winter, it’ll be time for us to get on with the rest of the demolition job. In the meantime the team will be busy fundraising, working on a Local Place Plan, and recruiting new members. Speaking of which, how good it was to welcome to this first meeting of the year a new member from Woodilee. Our recent leafleting campaign is bearing fruit!
