Signs of wildlife?

At 9.30am Cairn Ecology’s Erin and Laura begin an ecology survey of the area where the hub will be built. Any signs of protected species could mean wildlife conservation measures must be in place before the derelict club buildings can make way for the hub.

While the ecologists wade upriver and down- looking for otter spraints, tracks, holts and so on, WMCS members replace stolen ‘Dangerous building: keep out’ notices. As one of them remarked, the dilapidated, vandalised and treacherous state of a once loved and well-frequented building ‘would bring a tear to a glass eye’.
