On 27 November, at an event at Holyrood hosted by Annabelle Ewing MSP, the Coalfields Regeneration Trust (CRT) celebrated its 25 years of work supporting coalfields communities in Scotland, and presented its vision for the future.
In addition to all the other help it has given Waterside over the years, the CRT has provided invaluable support to the Waterside Community Hub project (including funding for the feasibility study, a large contribution to the planning application and an immensely appreciated presence at committee meetings), so it was really good to be there at the Scottish Parliament and to learn more about how they’re helping other communities too and are so appreciated everywhere they’re involved.
At the event, to our immense delight a member of CRT’s team offered to help us with a Local Place Plan (a legal document that sets out community aims for land use in its area). It’s always so good to know the CRT has our back. Thank you, CRT!
